The 2024 G2C was a first event for 7 of the Awarders who had never had the privilege of participating in a cycle race before. Their excitement and enthusiasm was palpable and felt by all who attended this event. Our goal for 2025 is to have 25 Amariders, completing the G2C and to extend the community to include Kenton-on-Sea, Alexandra and Port Alfred. We know that our call to reach this goal can be met but are asking for your help to “Build an impactful cycling community”. If anyone has any previously loved bicycles or cycling equipment, please could we ask you to drop it off at our collection point based at Remax in African Street. In addition any financial assistance will be used towards getting this initiative gaining more momentum and getting people in the communities of Makhanda, Port Alfred and Kenton-on-Sea on bicycles. Anyone who would like to volunteer time to assist in clearing and marking paths for trails would also be welcomed.
